Australian and New Zealand Society of Indexers
Several indexing groups have events planned for the lead-up to National Indexing Day or on the day itself.
The Canberra Region Group plans to meet for lunch on Saturday March 2 and use the opportunity to discuss current ANZSI issues as well as welcoming a new member, Ted Briggs.
NSW Indexers plan to celebrate the NID on Monday 25 March at the Botanic Gardens Cafe in the Sydney Botanic Gardens. They will meet for lunch, then go to the State Library and/or Mitchell Library for NID photographs. All welcome. Contact Glenda Browne (glendabrowne@gmail.com) for details.
Melbourne Indexers will celebrate on Thursday 28 March. Enjoy the day by meeting with your fellow indexers at ACMI Café, Federation Square (http://fedsquare.com/eatdrink/acmi-cafe-bar) from 10.30 am to 12.00 pm.
They’ll also be promoting indexing by releasing a terrific book (with an equally terrific index of course!) through the World’s Library – BookCrossing (https://www.bookcrossing.com/). The book will carry a unique BCID, along with indexing-related information, and its release at The Nook (http://fedsquare.com/news/the-nook-fed-squares-newest-pop-up-venue) will be visible to the whole world. Its serendipitous discovery is sure to make some lucky stranger’s day, and if they hop onto the site to log their catch, they’ll make our day too!
It would be good to have some idea of the number attending, so please send a message to melbourneindexers@gmail.com if you are going to join in.
