Mei Yen has worked in magazine, information research and book publishing environments. She has a keen interest in food writing and cooking - she has written for various Cheap Eats, Good Food Guides and Foodies' Guides over the years. She also ran her own publishing project - Brisbane's Budget Bites before moving to Tasmania. She spends her time these days as a freelance indexer, writer, editor and proofreader; blackberry wrangler and keen forager. She has indexed over 100 trade, scholarly and educational books and annual reports. She especially loves working on cookbooks, food and travel books, politics, arts and design, and Indigenous-inspired publications.
